Cake is my happy place.
Cake Joy is the realization of a long-awaited dream. Having goals of becoming a pastry chef since she was a child, owner Theron Brooks is the sole designer and baker of our cakes.
Growing up in Indianapolis, Theron has always had a passion for cooking - especially desserts. She took a cake decorating class as a pre-teen, sold cupcakes as a way to help raise money for college, and was always responsible for making desserts at family gatherings. It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic that Theron truly had the time to study the craft of cake decorating and invest in becoming a business owner. As a self-taught baker, Theron spends a lot of her time studying new techniques for future orders. Professionally, Theron has a degree in Marketing and an MBA.
In addition to running Cake Joy, she’s also a full-time Senior Communications Manager, wife to Courtney, and mom to Athen.
